Artist Statement:

2021 was a really confusing year when looked at through the lenses of social justice. Whilemany of us went into the year hopeful that progress was imminent, very few large scale changes took place and to add onto that there were a handful of large setbacks. This piece celebrates the achievements that were made throughout 2021 but also recognizes the fact that there is so much unfinished work that has to be carried into 2022.
