My name is Amelia and I am currently a senior at the University of Arizona studying Computer Science and East Asian Studies with a focus in Mandarin. I have a passion for learning new languages, as it helps me to connect with people from all over the world. In middle school, I first understood the importance of standing up for the oppressed and calling out injustices with the help of a few dedicated, impactful teachers. The GroupChat For Change is important to me because it gives young people a platform to do the very same, encouraging every generation to speak up for marginalized people everywhere.
