How Adorable!
Artist Statement:
I was inspired to make this cartoon after two of my friends and I made a petition to let teachers teach from home instead of being forced to teach in person during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even though we were fighting for a valid cause, our school district sent us off with a pat on the head, ignoring our argument completely. As Gen-Z moves towards the forefront of many social movements, we have to navigate around adults who still fail to take us seriously. With this cartoon, I hope to convey some of the frustration that our “activist generation” feels when we are not taken seriously.
