Artist Statement:

I made this cartoon to show the impracticality of attitudes surrounding sexual education in schools. States restrict information from teens and act surprised when teen pregnancy rates rise. Where I live in Arizona in the United States, schools are not required to teach students to have safe sex, which leaves many teens uninformed about this natural process of life. This cartoon also shows how K-12 education (especially in the United States) doesn’t prepare students for the real world. When we graduate, we are not equipped with the knowledge to be actual adults, but at least we know how to find the hypotenuse length of a triangle and label parts of a cell.
